Leadership and corporate governance
The Board is the governing body of Symbion Health Limited and seeks to represent and serve the interests of shareholders by overseeing and appraising the strategies, policies and performance of the company. The Board's role includes protecting and optimising company performance and increasing shareholder value, setting the company's values and standards, and ensuring shareholders are kept informed of the company's performance and major developments affecting its state of affairs.
The Board has established and reviewed its corporate governance practices in line with the Australian Stock Exchange ("ASX") Corporate Governance Council's "Principles of Good Corporate Governance and Best Practice Recommendations" published in March 2003. The Board considers that Symbion Health's current Corporate Government Practices follow those Best Practice Recommendations.
