It provides diagnostic and wellness services through its pathology, diagnostic imaging, medical centres and pharmacy services divisions as well as health-related products through its consumer division.
Our business divisions Symbion Pathology is one of Australia's leading private pathology groups with more than 150 pathologists and 6000 scientists, collection and support staff. More than 10 million patient episodes are performed annually in approximately 80 laboratories and 660 collection centres. Symbion Medical Centres works with General Practitioners to provide local communities with quality health care and family medicine. Approximately 450 General Practitioners operate their practices in more than 50 Symbion Medical Centre facilities. Symbion Imaging is one of Australia's largest diagnostic imaging groups providing a full range of services including X-rays, computerised tomography (CT scans), magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs) and ultrasounds. Approximately 2.2 million diagnostic imaging procedures are conducted annually in more than 120 community and hospital based centres in Queensland, NSW and Victoria. Symbion Pharmacy Services provides wholesale distribution of pharmaceutical and healthcare product lines to around 3,000 retail pharmacies, as well as public and private hospitals. Its trusted and recognised pharmacy retail brands include Terry White Chemists® and Chemmart®. Symbion Pharmacy Services also supports independent retail pharmacies with its unique Pharmacy Choice® program and provides market-leading pharmacy software solutions, MINFOS® and MINFOS® multistore. Symbion Consumer is a leading provider of nutraceuticals (vitamin and mineral supplements) with over 1.3 billion tablets and capsules produced annually. Symbion Consumer manufactures more than 75% of its nutraceutical products and its well known brands include Nature's Own®, Bio-Organics®, Cenovis® and Betadine®.
