Symbion Health Diagnostic Imaging supports ongoing research and drives advancements in diagnostic imaging, primarily in the areas of interventional radiology, musculoskeletal and neurological imaging.

Symbion Health in conjunction with Australia's premier Neurological Institute, Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute, has recently established a major research facility - Symbion  Health Clinical Research Imaging Centre (SCRIC). A Philips 3 Tesla MRI system has been installed for use in both scientific research and clinical practice.  We also have an innovative approach to Cardiac Imaging, having installed two cardiac MRI systems into premier locations in Sydney and Melbourne.

Symbion Health Diagnostic Imaging actively participates in ongoing research and supports our imaging specialists in their continuing professional development so they are at the cutting edge of diagnostic imaging techniques and technology. Joining the MHDI network provides you with many benefits including access to an extensive array of resources comprising over 150 fellow imaging specialists, both private and public hospital based imaging centres, as well as community based imaging sites. 

Symbion Health Diagnostic Imaging provides the infrastructure and opportunities to move into management, particularly of diagnostic imaging centres, and supports both state and national directors of radiology.

Imaging Specialists are invited to participate in workgroups such as IT steering committee, professional standards committee, subspecialised clinical groups such as CT/MR and more.

Imaging Specialists are also invited to participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs. Smbion Health Diagnostic Imaging provides a monthly newsletter with case studies and quiz questions, as well as an annual National Imaging Specialist CPD Conference. Both of these CPD activities are accredited points by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR).

Symbion Health Diagnostic Imaging  supports and facilitates the implementation of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs for Medical Imaging Technologists. All Symbion Health Diagnostic Imaging CPD programs are run in conjunction with and recognised by the Australian Institute of Radiography. Continued practical training is coordinated through your Symbion Health Diagnostic Imaging employment.

Symbion Health Diagnostic Imaging  provides first rate, ongoing education to all employees. Our educational resources include extensive medical libraries, on-line training programs and tutorials as well as regular educational meetings within the Symbion Health Diagnostic Imaging  network.

Symbion Health Diagnostic Imaging  has a strong focus on multi-skilling and interaction between the various imaging disciplines. All employees are encouraged to attend outside seminars and conferences.
