Symbion Health Limited is a diagnostic and wellness company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX: SYB). The company's businesses are structured into five divisions: Pathology; Medical Centres; Imaging; Pharmacy Services; and Consumer.
Symbion Pathology owns and operates Australia's second largest group of pathology practices, performing more than 9 million services annually. It employs approximately 200 pathologists and nearly 6,000 scientists, collection and support staff. The business has more than 75 laboratories and 580 collection centres. A comprehensive range of services across all pathology disciplines are offered, including biochemistry, microbiology, virology, serology, haematology, cytology and histopathology. Symbion Medical Centres works with GPs to provide local communities with quality health care and family medicine. More than 430 GPs operate their practices within 49 Symbion facilities across the country. Symbion Imaging is one of Australia's largest diagnostic imaging groups providing a full range of services including X-rays, computerised tomography (CT scans), magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs) and ultrasounds. 2.2 million diagnostic imaging procedures are conducted annually to aid in the early diagnosis of illness and often eliminate the need for invasive exploratory surgery. The business has more than 120 community and hospital based centres. Symbion Pharmacy Services provides wholesale distribution of pharmaceutical products and more than 16,000 product lines are delivered daily to approximately 3,000 pharmacies and hospitals. The division provides professional services to pharmacy customers to enhance their business through the provision of locums, IT systems and merchandising. Its trusted and recognised pharmacy retail brands include Terry White Chemists® and Chemmart®. Symbion Consumer is Australia's leading provider of nutriceuticals, marketing more than 500 health-related consumer products including vitamins and mineral supplements. Symbion Health's brand management skills and own manufacturing have enabled the business to maintain market leadership across Australia's combined grocery and pharmacy retail channels.
